Can You Really Get a Nursing Degree Online?

Many online degree schools offer nursing programs online, but can you really complete all the necessary requirements and become a Registered Nurse (RN) without ever going through clinical experiences or spending endless hours in a classroom?

The truth is, most of these online degree programs are designed for RNs who already have their license and have at least one year of professional experience. A few distance education programs, such as Excelsior College (formerly Regents College), once offered degree programs that led to nursing licensure. However, liability, experience, and competency issues have led this distance education online program, and every other, to discontinue entry-level nursing programs.

Therefore, most of the distance learning degree programs available allow RNs who have an Associate’s Degree to earn a Bachelor Degree online. Some also offer online graduate programs for nurses who already have a Bachelor’s Degree. Chamberlain College of Nursing and Jacksonville University both offer RN to BSN programs. (These are also known as BSN completion programs). Many other top online schools also offer RN to BSN programs; just search through the list of programs offered by the top distance degree programs listed on this website.

If you are like most nurses, you are busy trying to meet the demands of family and career. Finding time to go back to school can be extremely difficult. Online degree programs offer the flexibility to make this possible. Sharpen your skills, enhance your resume, and further your education by enrolling in a distance degree program today!

Earn a Degree in IT Online

In today’s world, people live with a vast store of knowledge at their fingertips. Because of this knowledge, technology advances more rapidly than college degree programs can create course offerings. Even this year’s college graduates will quickly fall behind technologically within three to five years, unless they make it a point to remain informed.

Staying informed, however, while beginning one’s new career can be quite difficult. Fortunately, many reputable online degree university programs are available to help people achieve this challenging goal. Those who have an Associate’s Degree may be interested in obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree on line. Alternatively, those who already have a Bachelor’s Degree might find themselves more interested in online graduate programs that focus on information technology (IT).

If you are merely interested in taking additional classes, and not completing an entire distance education degree program, consider a program that focuses on adult and distance education. These programs allow focused professionals to gain continuing education in as little or as much time as necessary. One of the most useful benefits of distance education online is flexibility; one can take only a single online degree course, or complete an entire degree program. The choice is entirely up to the student.

If you are planning a future career in information technology, consider getting a degree in IT online. If you already have a degree in another field, keep pace with rapid technological advances by taking continuing education courses in IT. Don’t let tomorrow pass you by because you failed to keep up!

Undergraduate and Graduate Accounting Degrees Online

Increasing numbers of people are enrolling in distance learning degree programs to advance their careers without taking time away from work to pursue an advanced education. Are these programs effective in assisting people to get better jobs after graduating from online graduate programs? Can students actually earn accounting degrees online and pass the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam?

These questions are easily answered with a resounding “Yes!” In fact, one online business accounting degree program recently ranked in the top ten nationally with regard to CPA exam pass rates. This emphasizes the educational commitment demonstrated by online degree university programs. Furthermore, it also indicates how committed distance degree students are to obtaining a quality education.

Many students may elect to get a Bachelor Degree in Business and major in Accounting. Those who continue on to get a Master Degree in Accounting, however, will reap the greatest financial reward. Although professionals can practice as accountants without taking the CPA or other certification exam, they make significantly less than those who do become certified. The students who do become certified after getting their Master’s Degree in Accounting earn, on average, $15,000 more annually than those who do not.

If you have already earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, you may have already landed a decent job and are already achieving many of your career goals. Enrolling in an accounting degree graduate program online will only increase your ability to fulfill your dreams. After all, with online accounting schools achieving the top ten list of universities whose students pass the CPA exam, you have nothing at all to lose!
